From humble beginnings in 1929 as a cordial and fruit peel manufacturer in inner city Melbourne, Edlyn Foods has grown to be a nationally recognised key supplier to the Foodservice Industry. Our brand was originally created with the coming together of its two founders, William Eddington & W.J. Lynn.
Edlyn has built a reputation for quality, innovative products and excellence in customer service, through a process of continuous improvement.
With our vision to be the Preferred Innovation Partner for those who want to serve Great Food experiences, Edlyn Foods seeks out, and welcomes partnerships in all channels within the Foodservice Industry.
These channels include Restaurant and Hotel, Commercial and Remote site catering, Aged/Healthcare, Institutional and QSR. We work with customers to make their business more successful.
Our History
1929
- Founders William John Eddington & W. J. Lynn form the company 'Eddington & Lynn Pty Ltd', located at 573 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
- They decide to combine their names to create the 'Edlyn' brand and begin to manufacturer flavoured cordials to sell into the Melbourne food market.
1932-34
- Having moved from its original location in Flinders Lane and now located at 353 Church St, Richmond, Eddington & Lynn Pty Ltd are subject of a significant factory fire causing more than 2,000 pounds of damage.
- As a result the company goes into involuntary liquidation.
1937
- William John Eddington forms a new company with partner Milton Southey named 'W. J. Eddington Pty Ltd'.
- They begin to manufacturer pure fruit cordials from their facility located at 430 – 438 Rae Street, Fitzroy North.
1988
- The Donelly family purchase Edlyn Foods and move business from Fitzroy North to Beverage Drive, Tullamarine.
2002
- Edlyn acquires the iconic Melbourne based Woods Olde Style Preserves, based in Wood Street, Preston, Victoria.
2006
- Edlyn relocates to its newly built state of the art production & warehousing facility, located in Epping, Victoria.
2012
- Edlyn wins the northern business of the year award, recognising business excellence in the northern municipality of Melbourne.
2013
- Edlyn wins Nafda Foodservice Supplier of the Year award.
2014
- Edlyn wins the Australian Packaging & Processing Machinery Associations (APPMA) design awards for sustainable packaging for condiment dispensing.
2015
- Edlyn wins Nando's national supplier of the year award.
2015
- Edlyn wins Domino's business partner of the year award in only our third year working together. Testament to our fantastic working relationship.
2016
- Edlyn opens the doors to its new 3,500m2 production facility based in Maryborough, Victoria.
2016
- Edlyn completes significant expansion, adding a new 6,000m2 warehouse space to existing warehouse and office building at Epping site.
2017
- Edlyn acquires Bone Roasters, one of the worlds finest producers of premium stocks and jus. This also significantly expands Edlyn's export operations into the Middle East and Asia.
2018
- Edlyn Foods’ Bone Roasters brand proudly partners with Bocuse D’or Australia, to support the Australian hospitality industry and inspire excellence in culinary professionals.
2021
- Edlyn acquires award winning South Australian ancient grain producer, Greenwheat Freekeh. Australia's premium Freekeh manufacturer.
2021
- Edlyn Foods partners with the Smith Family, supporting its Learning for Life program and to play our part in breaking the cycle of poverty, so young Australians can realise their full potential.

- Edlyn Wins Process Reinvention Award from KPMG for our 2021 Circular Economy Roadmap.
2023
- Edlyn wins the Nafda foodservice supplier of the year for the second time, recognised for superior performance in sales, marketing, delivery and customer service to all 65 Nafda members.
2024
- Edlyn Wins the City of Whittlesea Workplace Diversity Business Award (previously a runner up in 2023), acknowledging our strong commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace.
